Tips for Preparing your Skin for Fall.

7. Replenish cold weather skincare products.
Start by adding some key products that replenish moisture. By addressing damaged or undernourished skin now you’ll prepare your skin for the cold weather around the corner. Add a moisturizing hand cream to your daily arsenal to intensely moisturize and nourish your hands and nails every time you wash and a hydrating body wash to hydrate and restore moisture to your body. In the winter months, you may want to transition to richer body cream packed full of hydration and nutrients.

6. Eat right/take supplements.
Getting the right nutrients and adding in dietary supplement repairs skin from the inside out and works to calm and clarify the effects of summer with a healthy oil balance without the undesirable side effects associated with prescription treatments. Think Healthy and make sure your meals are bright with color!!!!

5. Treat acne correctly.
A common myth is that the sun clears up acne, but in many cases the opposite is true if you spend too much time in the sun. Try a pore rescue/clarity serum for breakouts, to diminish the look of blemish scars, exfoliate pores and stimulate collagen production.

4. Repair your lips to soft and subtle.
If the summer sun and chlorine has left your lips dry and cracked, nourish your lips back to health with concentrated moisture. A gentle scrub like a lip buff or lip exfoliate will help smooth out dry, cracked lips and leave them soft and supple. For daily use, opt for an anti-aging product (peptides) with moisture and UVA/UVB protection.

3. Smooth skin requires exfoliation.
If your skin is dull and rough from a summer of outdoor activities even the most advanced moisturizer won’t help because your skin’s surface is covered in dry, dead skin cells. Exfoliating regularly at home with a body scrub and a facial scrub will help to reveal smooth skin and improve the absorption of skin products. Jump start this great ritual and slip right into your smooth skin for fall with a exfoliating, nourishing and hydrating facial with your Esthetician.

Tips for Preparing your Skin for Fall.
One of the best parts of Summer is spending it outside on the beach, at barbecues and in the pool. Unfortunately, soaking up sunshine and chlorine damages our skin and shows in your complexion in the fall and winter months.

1. Start with the facts.
Sun exposure depletes collagen. Collagen is the glue-like substance that supports and connects tissues and is responsible for firmness, elasticity and protections. The sun makes collagen break down, damaging its suppleness and promoting early aging.

Diets high in essential fatty acids (cold water fish like salmon, walnuts, soybeans, tofu and flax seed) will repair cells and protect from further damage while diets high in antioxidants (whole grains, veggies, fruits and nuts) will repair and protect your skin.

2. Reevaluate your sunscreen strategy.
Sunscreen should be worn year-round. Conventional sunscreens only protect against surface, sun-burning UVB light. To protect the deeper skin layers vulnerable to photo-aging, you need a product that protects against UVB (burning rays) and UVA (aging rays) in your skincare regimen.

Example: use a product containing a non-irritating, chemical-free, titanium dioxide and zinc oxide formula, this broad spectrum solution effectively shields against both UVA and UVB light to keep skin naturally safe.

Do you feel that your skin will need more protection during Fall? You're right, since as the days get colder our skin care routine should adopt some complementary treatments to protect it. The following tips should be easily embedded in your daily care especially if you feel the signs of the transition. Learn more on how to prevent damages by talking with your Skin Care Professional or checking back here for more tips to help you "Fall Into Healthy Skin".

There are some basic guidelines that you can follow to autumn-proof your skin care. It is a well-known fact that summer already left some signs on your skin. Whether you managed to protect your pores from the damaging effects of the sun, there's still need for a quick and thorough revitalization.

Prevent Dry Skin
The cold weather can easily dry out our skin. Minimizing its resistance to deteriorating effect, our complexion can dehydrate and feel tighter. Besides increasing the water consumption it is necessary to use facial products that add hydration directly into to skin- Example (Hydrosols, Aqua Boosts, Hydrating Toners etc..).

As washing your face rather with tepid or cold and never with hot water. This will close the pores effectively keeping the dirt from penetrating into the skin. Facials can do miracles with your complexion. Choose ones that are meant to fight dehydration and dullness. These will refresh and properly moisturize the skin to an extent that it will be able to fight the harmful effects.

Make sure that the exfoliators either homemade or chemical contain ingredients as AHA's, Retinols and Glucosamine.
